Congratulations to Julie!!!! She lost 4.5 pounds during the March weight contest!!!!!!
I lost 3 pounds, but gained 3 pounds during January so I just broke even. Wish me luck for the coming gardening months when I should lose lots!!

Julie won a 8″X10″ canvas wrap, using a picture of her choice.

So on to the next contest.
This April contest is a photo contest, winner receives a 8″X10″ canvas wrap. These wraps are really cool. I will have pictures of them in the coming weeks.

    1. You can enter each day if you would like, but send ONLY ONE PHOTOGRAPH EACH DAY.
    2. The contest starts today April 2nd and goes until April 30th.
    3. Here is the tricky part. Do not duplicate subjects, send only one picture of each subject. For example, if you have five children, send only one picture of each child. Only one picture of a tulip, only one picture of the Tetons, you get the idea. So this means, pick your favorite picture of each subject and send it, I only want your best.
    4. ONLY PICTURES TAKEN BY YOU ARE ELIGIBLE, pictures entered by ‘Frank’ must be taken by ‘Frank’.
    5. You can’t submit for someone else, everyone must enter their own pictures, using their own email.
    6. All pictures will become the property of Pam Olsen and further use by the submittee is prohibited……….JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!! I will ONLY use the images to judge the contest.
    7. Here is how to submit a photograph. Use this April 2nd blog to submit your entries. Just add a comment in the comment box, then attach the image using the browse button in the box below the comment box, then click ‘submit comment’.
    8. Bribing the judge (ME) is prohibited, but you can always try.
    9. Remember, enter only one picture per day.
    10. Because this is a family site, keep your photographs child friendly!!!!!

Please have fun with this, I am looking forward to lots of images, the canvas wrap picture is a very cool prize and worth $75.

This is a picture of Shaker setting up, he isn't too happy about it, but setting up just the same.

Here is another picture of Shaker, this time being very very nice. He doesn't look like he has a mean bone in his body.

I took a few pictures of the tulips I ‘forced’ to bloom early in my house.
I used an attachment on my flash to help the light seem more natural.
Let me know which you like the best.

So it has been very cold the last few days. The wind was about 15 mph from the north, making it very very cold.
But…even though I didn’t want to go outside I did take some pictures of my windows with the frost covering them. Very cool.

    Why do we take pictures?

Are pictures taken for just our enjoyment?

Are pictures taken to capture a moment?

Are pictures taken to document our life?

Are pictures taken for others to look at and enjoy?

Photographers are always looking for a purpose for their pictures.  They want others to see what they saw in the picture when it was taken.

Do you see pictures in everything you look at?

As a photographer, it is always in your mind to take a once in a lifetime picture and to have others enjoy the picture as well.

As a photographer, growth is always there,

Always learing from the pictures you take.

“It’s more than just a picture, you have to learn from it.”
